First of all there is a difference between losing weight, and losing excess body fat. Clearly losing excess body fat is the way to go. If you lost “weight”, this could include muscle, and muscle is your greatest helper burning off calories. So in effect, losing muscle will slow down your weight loss progress. If you go about this wrong, your body may actually store fat more than it does now. Some of these things relate to the bodies self preservation. If you lost weight too quickly, your body may think that you are near starvation and actually store more fat to keep you healthy.
Another important aspect of “Lose Weight Quick” is that chances are good that you wont stick to a diet such as this. On average you can expect to lose 1 to 3% of your body fat in one month. If a diet did cause you to drop 25 pounds in three days, it would have to be very extreme. And extreme diet is not only unhealthy, its almost impossible to stick to a diet such as this. If the diet does not easily fit into your life, its not going to work for you in the long run.
Finally, there is the matter of health. By extreme fasting, you are putting a tremendous strain on your body. It is even possible to end up in a hospital or in the grave, from complications involved with trying to lose weight too rapidly.
So dont choose a diet that promises to lose weight quick. Instead look for a sensible system. A system that will not only help you lose weight now, but well into the future.
